POKER PREMIER LEAGUE: ROUND FOUR

Charlie de Wirtz blew the Premier League Title race open again with victory in his home game in the fourth round.

After going All-In twice in the early hands to gain a slender advantage, he sat tighter and became chip loser only to resort to a mixed-play strategy which saw him hold on and reach the Heads-Up against Simon Stanley.

The result leaves de Wirtz on 18 points, five behind Stanley and Byrne who are joint top on 23 points following their respective second and fourth positions.

Third placed went to Steve Botting who held a temporary chip lead but failed to secure the victory that was essential to reinvigorate his title challenge.

Brett Levett went out fifth to leave him on 15 points and still with aspirations to win the League given that the last round will take place at Hunters Rise.

There is much to happen before then, with
the next round set for June 6 at Fiennes Den, with host Ed Godrey - out of contention - seeking to restore pride and secure a top-four finish.

The race for the title of inaugural Premier League Poker Champion appears to be between five contenders - Brett Levett, Christina Botting, Charlie de Wirtz, Simon Stanley and John Byrne.
