POKER PREMIER LEAGUE: ROUND FIVE

Christina Botting registered her first ever poker victory and catapolted herself up to third in the Premier League Table in a dramatic night at Fiennes Den.

She now sits just two points behind league leader Simon Stanley after adopting an ultra-agressive approach that put paid to the hopes of de Wirtz, Byrne and.....whoops - husband Steve.

The top three in the League prior to the start were the first three out tonight, leaving the destiny of the inaugral Premier League Title wide open again.

Charlie de Wirtz went out first, shortly followed by Byrne and then Stanley, a sequence of events which left even host Ed Godfrey with renewed hope of getting back into the hunt for the League Title.

Steven Botting went next after being outfoxed by his wife on an all-in call, and was swiftly followed by Brett Levett, who will host the final round.

Host Godrey initially made some inroads into Christina Botting's significant chip advantage in the Heads-Up battle, but was ultimately made to pay for an impatient all-in move and had to settle for second place.

Round Six will be hosted by Simon Stanley on August 6, but tonight belonged to Christina Botting, who in registering her maiden victory became the fifth different winner of a League game in five rounds and blew open the Title race again. The result leaves five players still harbouring realistic ambitions
of landing the crown.
